GPS tagging is a way to tag pictures with their exact location. If you or your children take pictures with a smart phone, tablet or any other GPS enabled device and then send those pictures to friends or post them on facebook or other social media, a stalker can use the GPS information attached to the picture to determine your location. This is very dangerous.
Now, take all the smart phones that you own, click onto the camera as if your are preparing to take a picture and then go to the settings option on the camera. Scroll down until you see GPS Tagging. Make sure it is turned off. This is true for any device that has a camera and GPS tagging including some high end cameras.
